Dr. David Bergen is a lifelong learner, avid woodworker, gardener, and enthusiastic “weather watcher” — which explains his growing gallery of Lake Ontario photographs. Beyond his hobbies, he brings more than four decades of experience in family and cosmetic dentistry in the Niagara Region.

Dr. Bergen began practicing dentistry in 1976 and later founded a successful dental office in Virgil, where he served patients for many years. Although he valued the experience, he eventually felt called to create a different kind of practice — one built around calm, unrushed care. Lakeside Dental is the fulfillment of that vision: a single-chair, boutique dental practice in Port Dalhousie designed to give every patient the time, privacy, and attention they deserve.

Born and raised in Kitchener, Ontario, Dr. Bergen graduated from the University of Western Ontario’s dental program. Over the years, he has held several leadership roles, including President of the Niagara Peninsula Dental Association and Governor of the Ontario Dental Association.

A strong advocate for professional growth, he continues to pursue advanced training annually. He also serves as Program Chair for the Region of Niagara Academy of General Dentistry and hosts an annual Georgian Bay Dental Symposium, bringing together dentists from across Ontario to explore emerging techniques and technologies.
