A lifelong learner and community leader, he balances his professional life with hobbies like woodworking, gardening, and capturing the changing moods of Lake Ontario through photography. These passions reflect the thoughtfulness and attention to detail he brings to family and cosmetic dentistry in Port Dalhousie.
From Early Practice to a Boutique Dental Vision
Dr. Bergen began practicing dentistry in 1976 and later founded a successful dental office in Virgil, serving patients for many years. While grateful for those experiences, he dreamed of a different kind of practice — one where care is calm, unrushed, and fully personalized.
That dream became reality with Lakeside Dental, a single-chair, boutique dental practice in Port Dalhousie. Here, every patient receives the time, privacy, and attention they deserve, making each visit a relaxed and positive experience.
Education, Leadership, and Ongoing Growth
Born and raised in Kitchener, Ontario, Dr. Bergen graduated from the University of Western Ontario’s dental program. He has held leadership roles including President of the Niagara Peninsula Dental Association and Governor of the Ontario Dental Association, demonstrating his commitment to the dental profession.
Always pursuing advanced training, Dr. Bergen serves as Program Chair for the Region of Niagara Academy of General Dentistry and hosts the annual Georgian Bay Dental Symposium, gathering dentists across Ontario to explore new techniques and technologies.
